Our Focus Areas
These four focus areas address the most urgent, preventable threats to child and community health—clean water and hygiene to stop disease, treatment of intestinal parasites to restore strength and growth, polio vaccination to prevent lifelong disability, and life-saving nutrition support to protect children in emergencies.
01

WASH & Clean Water
Why it matters: Safe water, sanitation, and hygiene prevent the spread of deadly diseases and protect dignity in crisis settings.
Emergency impact: Rapid access to clean water reduces outbreaks of cholera, diarrhea, and other waterborne illnesses.
EPLI role: EPLI supports emergency water access, hygiene promotion, and sanitation solutions for vulnerable communities.
02
Intenstinal Parasites
Why it matters: Parasitic infections weaken immunity, impair growth, and reduce cognitive development—especially in children.
Emergency impact: Deworming quickly improves health, energy, and nutrient absorption in affected populations.
EPLI role: EPLI enables parasite control through treatment campaigns and improved hygiene practices.

03

Polio Vaccinations
Why it matters: Polio can cause irreversible paralysis and death, yet it is entirely preventable through vaccination.
Emergency impact: Rapid immunization halts transmission and protects children during outbreaks and displacement.
EPLI role: EPLI supports vaccination outreach and awareness in high-risk and hard-to-reach areas.
04
Malnutrition
Why it matters: Malnutrition is a leading cause of child mortality and undermines lifelong physical and mental development.
Emergency impact: Timely nutritional support saves lives, stabilizes communities, and prevents long-term damage.
EPLI role: EPLI prioritizes nutrition interventions—screening, supplementation, and therapeutic feeding—for the most at-risk children and families.
